EngineeringRemote, MassachusettsFull-time or part-time

Sr. Support Engineer

You are the person clients are relieved to hear from. You cover the whole stack: help desk tickets, Microsoft 365 tenants that need a careful hand, the network gear at 40 or so small offices around Massachusetts, and the security work (incident response, hardening, configuration) that keeps those clients off the news. Most days you work from home. One to three days a week you travel to a client site, fix what needs fixing, and leave people better off than you found them.

What you will do

  • Work the help desk queue end to end, from password resets to server outages: diagnose, fix, document, and call the client back to make sure it stayed fixed.
  • Administer Microsoft 365 tenants for 40+ clients: Exchange Online, Entra ID, Intune, Defender, SharePoint, licensing, and conditional access.
  • Manage tenant security baselines and alerts through CIPP and keep them consistent across every client.
  • Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot Meraki and Aruba switches, firewalls, and access points, in person and remotely.
  • Handle security work day to day: triage EDR alerts, contain and respond to incidents, harden tenant and firewall configurations, and write up what happened in plain English.
  • Work inside N-central every day: patching, scripting, monitoring, and cleaning up the alerts that do not matter so the ones that do get seen.
  • Run onboarding and hardware refreshes on site: Entra-joined laptops, printers, Wi-Fi, and the closet nobody has opened in five years.
  • Be the calm voice when a client has had a bad morning.

What you bring

  • 4+ years supporting Microsoft 365 in a multi-tenant or MSP environment.
  • Hands-on experience with Meraki and Aruba network gear, including firewalls, switching, VLANs, and wireless.
  • Working knowledge of CIPP for tenant management and N-central (or a comparable RMM) for monitoring and patching.
  • Comfortable with Windows 11, macOS, Windows Server, Entra-joined and hybrid devices, and PowerShell for the repetitive stuff.
  • A clean driving record and a reliable vehicle. Client site travel 1 to 3 times a week, mostly on the South Shore and inside Route 128.
  • Plain-English communication. You can explain an outage to an office manager without making them feel small.
  • Ability to pass a background check.

Nice to have

  • Microsoft certifications (MS-102, AZ-104, SC-300) or Meraki CMNA / Aruba ACSA.
  • Incident response experience with Huntress, SentinelOne, or another EDR platform, and comfort with Defender and conditional access hardening.
  • Exposure to Google Workspace migrations, Azure, or CMMC and HIPAA controls.
  • You have worked at another Managed Service Provider (MSP) and know what a good ticket queue feels like.

How we work

  • Remote first. Your desk is at home. Our office in Scituate is there when you want it.
  • Client site travel 1 to 3 days a week. Scheduled visits, onboardings, and the occasional emergency.
  • Full-time or part-time. Full-time is 40 hours with an on-call rotation. Part-time is 20 to 30 hours on a fixed schedule with no on-call.
  • A good sense of humor is required. Clients call us on their worst days. We take the work seriously and ourselves a little less so.

How to apply

Email your resume, references, and a few sentences about the hardest ticket you ever closed to careers@wireguided.com. No cover letter needed. We read every application and reply to every one, usually within three business days.
